The numbers are the catalog. ASA: heat deflection 95°C, impact 40 kJ/m², flexural 65 MPa, print 240–260°C, bed 90–110°C, 2 colors. CF ASA: heat deflection 98°C, impact 35 kJ/m², flexural 85 MPa, print 250–270°C, bed 90–110°C, 1 color (black). Heat moves only from 95°C to 98°C. Flexural moves from 65 to 85 MPa — that is the stiff outdoor line. Writing ASA on a load-bearing outdoor bracket does not turn the color card into the carbon-fiber card.
CF ASA sits in the engineering family as the outdoor stiff option. Plain ASA applications list outdoor fixtures, signage, exterior housings and automotive exterior. The split is whether the buyer needs carbon-fiber stiffness off the printer while keeping outdoor UV. Impact moves from 40 to 35 kJ/m² — the CF grade is the stiffness grade, not the softer grade. The grade name is what changes the order line.
Color count is not the same job. Plain ASA stocks black and white for general outdoor parts. CF ASA stocks black on the carbon-fiber card. Pick the grade from the load requirement, then take black from that card.
