If the wall must show through — a sight glass, a clear cover, a window in a fixture — order Transparent PETG, not standard PETG. The Transparent PETG card is the clear grade. The numbers are the catalog. PETG: heat deflection 70°C, impact 32 kJ/m², flexural strength 64 MPa, print 230–250°C, bed 70–85°C, 18 colors. Transparent PETG: heat deflection 72°C, impact 35 kJ/m², flexural strength 66 MPa, print 230–250°C, bed 70–85°C, 6 colors. Same print and bed ranges. Writing PETG on a sight-glass line does not turn the opaque card into the clear card.
Transparent PETG sits in the PETG family as the clear option. Standard PETG applications list functional parts, fixtures, containers and OEM wholesale. The split is whether the buyer needs to see through the wall. Heat moves only from 70°C to 72°C. Impact moves from 32 to 35 kJ/m². The grade name is what changes the order line.
Color count is not the same job. Standard PETG stocks 18 colors for opaque and general use. Transparent PETG stocks 6 colors on the clear card. Pick the grade from the see-through requirement, then take the color from that card.
