140th Canton Fair in Guangzhou: the halls were full on the 70th anniversary

On 16 October 2026, Foshan Qianshuo Technology Co., Ltd. visited the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in Guangzhou. This session is the fair’s 70th anniversary. It runs from 15 October to 4 November 2026 in three phases, at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Pazhou, Guangzhou (382 Yuejiang Zhong Road, Haizhu). We make 3D printer filament in Foshan. This trip was a visit. We do not have a booth. The aisles and the glass concourse between the halls were crowded.

The company count and the buyer count below are what the organizer and the official reports published. They are not a headcount we made at the door. On 18 September 2026 the Ministry of Commerce said more than 32,000 companies would exhibit, more than 11,000 of them high-quality enterprises (including specialized producers and companies that lead a specific segment), and more than 210,000 overseas buyers had finished pre-registration by that day. The same briefing described the 70-year scale as growth from 9,600 square meters and 1,200 buyers at the first session to 1.55 million square meters and around 310,000 buyers today. Xinhua’s opening report on 15 October 2026 said more than 30,000 exhibiting companies and about 340,000 overseas buyers expected. Expected, not a door count that day. Premier Li Qiang’s opening speech, published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and datelined Guangzhou, 14 October 2026, said the exhibition area grew from 9,600 square meters to 1.55 million, and buyers from 1,200 at the start to more than 300,000 this year. Over 70 years, buyers have come from more than 220 countries and regions.
